Self explanatory here, but a fun way to get everyone involved!

Tacky Christmas Sweater

All you need is a long list of describing words. Have everyone stand and as you read each word on your list, if it describes their sweater in any way, they must sit down. Continue until one person is left standing wearing the Famous Ugly Christmas Sweater.
Examples of ways to call out your words: If your Tacky Christmas sweater is Blue, you’ve got to sit down! If your Tacky Christmas sweater has a snowman on it, please sit down! If your Tacky Christmas sweater has a bell on it, you’re out of the game!

You can borrow or buy a Karaoke machine, and all songs of course should be Christmas songs! .Make sure to designate someone to video ahead of time to make sure these performances are recorded for future laughter.

Where did the Tacky Christmas Sweater Parties Start ?

Eight years ago, three friends set out with one goal in mind, to organize the cheesiest feel-good Christmas party ever. It was the beginning of a tradition among our group of friends and has been officially dubbed the ‘Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party’. The party would have many festive elements: caroling, eggnog, candy canes, mistletoe, tree decorating, ugly Christmas sweaters and most importantly, a large dose of holiday cheer! The first gathering was a huge success with the participants marking their calendar for the following year. Two years later, the festive social could no longer be contained within the confined space of a house, so the party moved to the Highland Pub at Simon Fraser University. In 2004, the party made a leap to an even larger venue, attracting over 400 people with very little advertising or promotional effort. In 2005, the celebration moved one final time to one of Vancouver’s premiere show venues: the Commodore Ballroom. This year ‘The 8th Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party’ will undoubtedly be the best Sweater Party yet, with first class entertainment, a sell-out crowd of 1000 people, and most importantly, all the proceeds going to the Union Gospel Mission.
